Marc was born in Georgetown, Guyana and grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He started drawing as a kid and studied architecture at the University of Waterloo. His early creative practice centered on the production of self-published zines, posters and comics, and in 1999 he moved to Toronto where he participated in the vibrant DIY community of self-publishing and art making. During this time Montreal based Conundrum Press published two of his graphic novels, Enter Avariz and The Unexpurgated Tale of Lordie Jones. In 2004-2005 he was a video journalist for the CBC's innovative open source television show Zed Television reporting from the fringe and underground cultures. In 2006 he set off on an extended period of travel and research, and he lived and worked in various cities, hamlets and beach towns around the world.
Marc's Drawings from a Thousand Plateaus and Totem Pill animation have been exhibited in art galleries across Canada. He has received several award nominations for Watch This Space, a book about public space for young adults. His recent activities include illustrations for Boone Lab, a biochemistry research lab at the Donnelly Centre, University of Toronto, and Olden County, a 400 page graphic novel currently in its first draft.
Currently Marc is preparing art for The Reef, an artpiece for upART 2011 at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto, for 27 to 30 October 2011, and Let's Glow, a show for the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery to open in January 2012. Bboth exhibitions are collaborative projects with his partner and girlfriend Magda Wojtyra under the name Happy Sleepy.
Marc lives and works in Cambridge, Ontario.
